i have decided to move the blog to wordpress. i have contemplated it for several months now, and i decided it time to move on. i love blogger. blogger was the first blogging site i've ever used, but i want more. i sound greedy right? i want a cleaner more simpler design that wordpress can give me. blogger is very limited on how one can arrange their blog, and sadly i've grown tired of my current layout. it will not be the end of a california hippie. i have simply moved all my posts from here to wordpress. also, i will not be deleting this blog. i have kept it since the beginning of my senior year of high school, so it is here to stay. so i guess this is it blogger. you were awesome training wheels and i feel more confident on blogging. i may or not use you again. but thank you so much. for everything. you'll always be my favorite online journal.
here is the link to a california hippie on wordpress

with lots of love, hugs, and kisses

ojai hutch// two weeks with mochi//what's going on :)
firstly hello everyone :)
It has been about two weeks since i have posted and it's about time that i do:
last monday we drove up to ojai [one my favorite little places on the planet] to find my bunny a hutch to live outside. i know that i have always wanted her to be an "inside bun" but due to a playful kitten and the fact that she is growing up, my mother and i have decided it was time she had her own home [with no property tax i might add]. at ojai we went to our new favorite pet store "Wachter Hay and Grain." They have ALL your pet needs in one big pet store. they even had a hutch big enough to fit my buns big booty [which was rather difficult to find]. the hutch itself was pricey at $256 dollars, but it was already built and it was just nice all around. so now oreo has a home in the backyard* all her own. i think it is one of the nicest hutches out there. it does have a wire bottom but i do cover every square inch of it with newspaper and now an old pillowcase, rabbits feet are extremely sensitive and i do not want my bun's feet to swell
the inside has been changing. we are finding lots of blankets to line her hutch with so she isn't freezing at night time. i'm just glad that oreo does have somewhere where she is safe at night and is weather proof.
also it is almost a month with our kitten oreo. he's growing so fast. one wee he is six pounds and two weeks later he is eight pounds!!! they grow up so fast. he has gotten over his feline respiratory problem and is now healthy. he's just the cutest creature and i'm glad he has a forever home with us :)
*disclaimer: i live in southern california and the weather down here is very mild. no snow and rain maybe occasionally. oreo WILL be brought into the house if it does pour rain but for the most part she is and outside bunny now. her hutch is in a very very shady spot away from direct sunlight and there are lots of blankets inside so that she does have some sort of insulation in the winter time. thank you for reading.

an abundance of love//cold weather//the end of pomegranate season
this week seemed to have flew by extremely fast. it is already thursday. thursday!! it was a "decent" week so i cannot really complain. today i felt an abundance of love from my two babies oreo and mochi! they are the cutest creatures and i would not give them up for anything. i love how mochi likes to curl up beside me on my bed. i feel the love. right now it is drizzling. i love the rain. the sweater weather. i need to remember to never go to school without something to keep warm in. it does get cold waiting outside. while the weather outside may be amazing, it put a stop to my pomegranate season and i enjoyed the last of biscotti for this morning's snack

mochi our siamese baby//patagonia salmon run
on november 6, 2014 we brought home our mochi. he is the sweetest siamese kitten in the world and he has been adjusting to our household just fine. he is a very curious little creature and is still confined inside the family room and kitchen. he is already potty trained and he loves to sleep. sadly he is sick and needs to take antibiotics everyday for 10 days. we are still working on both oreo and mochi to get along but it is like everything else in life a process. in addition to bringing home a new baby i ran the patagonia salmon run for the second year in a row. i love the very relaxed race and am glad all proceeds go back to the environment.

first rain & mochi
it rained finally. on halloween night after trick-or-treating (well not really. i'm too old. (it sucks growing up)). it rained the hardest it ever has and the sound was just complete euphoria. we need rain here in so. cal and i am glad it rained. we did also spent saturday in santa barbara. we have not been there in a while and we were over due for a visit. lucky brand sale. giovanni's pizza. antique stores. i love the chill vibes santa barbara gives off. on sunday, we rescued a cat. a siamese kitten to be exact. his name at the shelter is "jax" which we will happily rename him "mochi" because of his creamy body color. his eyes were what bought us and we are eagerly waiting for thursday afternoon when we could pick him up. not sure how we will get hime to get along with territorial oreo but we'll do our best to introduce him.

erasure//contest win//fat bun
such a week this week! on sunday i saw Erasure perform at the ventura theatre and that was some show! loved all the energy of andy bell and vince clarke :) not bad for a couple of old people, but man i won't forget seeing them ever. i also won an instagram contest as well (why not give contests a try?). i entered picture of my favorite refill shoppe product and won a $20 gift certificate. on other news oreo is getting fat off of all the guavas. she needs an intervention

no more bella / mid-semester woes
she's gone. our bella is not living on the porch anymore. no more "meow meow". her real owner came to take her back home, but we really miss her. we loved our bella.
one another note. i've felt lazy all this week. maybe it's because we are in the middle of the semester, but i need to wake up. right now is not the time to relax. my goal is straight A's and i need to work my ass off! i have a women's health exam this upcoming monday and i have to ace it. wish me luck

my oreo and bella
today was a stay at home day. i did go to the farmer's market but that is about it. so a boring day. not much to talk about. i did write my first letter to paulina. i miss her. i also observed my cat and bunny a lot today. i even found out my bunny killed a bird. not happy but what can you do with a greedy bunny who will not share her guava tree. but i am not stressed so i am content.

a cleanse
fridays i have no school. this week really caused me stress and i needed to go to nature. i needed to cleanse my mind and just relax. so i jumped on to bus 6 and rode to ventura to go on a little hike at arroyo verde. the weather was perfect. not too hot nor too cold. i hiked on the trail that lead to one of highest points in the park. i collected some sage on the way and some fossils. just being on top of the park felt like being on top of the world. i could see the all of ventura and oxnard. it was just nice being in nature. i feel like my soul was cleansed. i hope to go again soon, arroyo verde will always be one of my favorite places on this planet.

statistics: devotion
this week i devoted my life to statistics. i spent nearly every day this week in the library studying for a test that i had this morning. i am happy to say that i feel really confident in how i did this morning and hope that relays on how i actually did. i now have to catch up on my other classes which i sadly neglected.
on other news. the cat's name is "Bella" and she perfect

a pretty kitty
last sunday i found a cat in our backyard. i thought she was the cutest cat ever. all she wanted was to be petted. i have not seen her since sunday and today she appeared in our front porch and was lounging on the porch bench. she helped herself to some cat food that dante had bought her and she was happy. i wish we could keep her but a cat would be quite the investment. we think she does belong to someone and she just explores our neighborhood as she pleases.

Life at the moment no. 1
this blog has suffered. i am sorry for being such a lazy procrastinator. i have been saying the past 8 weeks "today i will blog!" but then i didn't. i need to get back. i forgot the feeling of writing for fun. i am in college now trying to be as a happy i can be and not get too stuck in the whirling vortex that is school. i love the feeling of learning, the freedom that is college, and the uncertainty of what will happen next.
